SNEC 17th (2024) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition (SNEC PV POWER EXPO) was held in the National Exhibition and Conference Center (NECC) (Shanghai) on June 13–15, 2024. Chint Power attended the Exhibition, and presented ground photovoltaic solutions, household/industrial/commercial photovoltaic solutions as well as ground/household and new industrial/commercial energy storage solutions at Booth 7.1H-D680. Visitors to the Exhibition came in an endless stream. The staff of Chint Power kept busy with the detailed introduction to these visitors in an orderly manner.

Chint Power's Full-scenario Solutions

Release of Technical Report on 320 kW String Inverters

This Exhibition highlighted Chint Power's 320 kW string inverters, which inherit the high efficiency, high reliability and excellent performance of Chint Power's high-power inverters. The products feature excellent temperature-resistance design, maintaining stable output without derating even in harsh environments of up to 50°C. The significant advantage indicates more power output from Chint Power's 320 kW string inverters under the same conditions, significantly higher power generation efficiency and thus more benefits obtained by clients. The CAN+PLC communication mode designed for the inverter enables fast dispatching response and more convenient remote maintenance, further enhancing reliability.

At the Exhibition, TÜV SÜD issued a detailed technical report on Chint Power's 320 kW string inverter series, validating and testing the high-temperature adaptability and field application performance of Chint Power's 320/333/350 series products. As estimated through system stimulation, if these products are used in Bhadla Solar Park, India, the total energy output will be 1.63% higher in 2025, compared with the situation where the products that have to derate under 30℃ are used. The report objectively and impartially recognizes and affirms the outstanding performance of the inverter series.

POWER BLOCK 2.0, a Liquid-cooled Energy Storage System

Also showcased alongside the 320 kW inverter was a liquid-cooled energy storage system solution boasting high energy density, high performance, and high safety. The solution comprises a 5 MW PCS booster cabinet and a liquid-cooled battery box. A TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) can have a capacity of 5 MWh, and the maximum capacity can be up to 5.1 MWh. The energy density is increased by 37%, reducing the cost per watt-hour. The system features multiple electrical protections and shock/pressure-resistant structural design, with optional Class C5 corrosion-resistance protection, ensuring stable operation in harsh environments with high/low temperatures, high salt spray, high altitudes, etc. This solution has already undergone system performance verification at multiple project sites.

125 kW/261 kWh outdoor industrial/commercial energy storage cabinet

Also at the Exhibition were Chint Power's 125 kW/261 kWh outdoor industrial/commercial energy storage cabinets. They are new products launched by Chint Power after comprehensive optimization in terms of economical efficiency, safety, ease of use, and reliability, specifically targeting the application scenarios and users' pain points in commercial/industrial energy storage.

This new-generation energy storage cabinet system boasts a maximum efficiency of 92%. In addition to the selected quality battery cells, multi-layer protection is also provided in the system design. Design concepts of "all in one" and "1+N" capacity expansion were adopted for the system. The pre-installation and pre-commissioning of the system will be conducted in the factory, allowing for acceptance and use on-site after direct deployment. The multi-dimensional system design enhances the product's economical efficiency, safety, ease of use, and reliability.

Power Leaf, a Household Energy Storage System

The core products of the Power Leaf household energy storage solution are the Hybrid inverter and household energy storage battery. The battery features a modular stacked design for easy wire-free installation. The Hybrid inverter has the AFCI functions and five basic operating modes, offering high benefits, excellent performance, and high reliability. The inverter adapts to various harsh installation environments and can ensure household electricity safety.

The complete household energy storage solution provides users with safe, stable, and reliable power, supporting seamless on-grid/off-grid switching to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for critical loads. For grid connection, the backup power can be up to 12 kW (single-phase)/40 kW (three-phase), supporting whole-house backup power, cutting the cost of separate loads and ensuring uninterrupted power supply under any condition. It also features an enhanced intelligent time-sharing control mode and smart load control functions for higher benefits, meeting clients' diverse needs in various scenarios.

Residential and industrial/commercial PV series inverters

Chint Power's household PV series inverters attracted significant attention at the Exhibition. For DC-side safety, all products of the series have been provided with AFCI arc fault protection and passed IEC63027 certification. For application scenarios, its DC input current can be up to 15 A, adaptable to various 182 mm PV modules; there are complete single/multiple anti-counterflow solutions provided for the inverters for various household and small industrial/commercial application scenarios. For reliability, the inverters boast IP66 & C5 high protection and are provided with Type II SPD on both DC and AC sides, ensuring enhanced all-around performance and reliability.

Chint Power's commercial inverter series also boasts exceptional performance. The 100/125 kW string inverters, for instance, support 12-channel MPPTs, 2 channels more than those of benchmark enterprises in the industry. The inverters have higher MPPT granularity. When matched with 182 mm and 210 mm modules, the overmatch ratio of these inverters can be up to 1.5. They can fulfill a lower cost per kilowatt-hour and have higher module adaptability. They also feature comprehensive protection and flexible monitoring functions.

Monitoring Experience Area

Chint Power also set up an experience area for the smart PV energy storage monitoring platform at the Exhibition. In this experience area, the clients interested in the product could have a try. The platform was designed by Chint Power for PV and PV energy storage products. It provides a user-friendly interface, and issues control strategies remotely, fulfilling clients' needs for one-stop management. It can also improve users' participation in the PV energy storage system and the utilization efficiency of the whole system.

Authoritative certification of series products

During the Exhibition, witnessed by visitors, Ge Yanqing, Regional Vice President and General Manager in China of the CSA Group, awarded Chint Power with the UL certificate for Chint Power's full series of 12 kW household energy storage converters (American version). Li Weichun, Vice President of Global Power Electronics Product Service and General Manager of Solar Energy and Commercial Products Service in Greater China of TÜV Rheinland, awarded Chint Power with the Germany VDE 4110/4120 certificate for 350 kW series products. These certifications demonstrate the exceptional quality and safety performance of Chint Power's products and signify further enhancement of Chint Power's competitiveness and recognition in the international market. Additionally, the two award presenters congratulated Chint Power and expressed their expectations for further deepening cooperation.
