As one of the important PV markets in Europe, the Italian residential PV market in 2024 suffered a “cooling”, but according to relevant data, Italy's new PV installed capacity in 2024 amounted to 6.8GW, an increase of 31% compared with 2023, and its PV market demand is still continuing to grow.
In 2024, Italy stopped subsidizing PV feed-in tariffs and encouraged residents to consume and install energy storage on their own, which brought a good development trend to the energy storage market. With the gradual withdrawal of the PV subsidy policy, the shift to large storage to fill the power gap has driven the rapid development of the energy storage market. In 2024, Italy's installed capacity of large storage increased by 98% year-on-year and has become the second largest energy storage market in Europe.

At the exhibition, Chint Power launched large-scale C&I 1.6MW/3.3MWh energy storage solutions and 125kW/261kWh C&I Turnkey solutions, which have significant advantages in small ground-mounted power stations and large-scale commercial and industrial scenarios!
Chint Power's 1.6MW/3.3MWh energy storage system adopts a 20-foot standard container integration design, which integrates AC and DC systems for convenient transportation and reduces on-site construction and commissioning workload by about 50%, significantly shortening the project delivery cycle. Its transformer coupling technology improves energy conversion efficiency by 4% and reduces equipment cost by about 5%, which can realize a higher return on investment. In addition, the cluster management design eliminates inter-cluster loop current and reduces capacity loss by up to 7% compared with the centralized type, ensuring stable and efficient operation of the system.
Chint Power Systems' commercial and industrial 125kW/261kWh outdoor energy storage cabinet adopts the ALL IN ONE design, with a highly integrated system and a capacity of up to 261kWh, making it more suitable for commercial and industrial scenarios such as office buildings, factories, and commercial districts. It supports parallel connection of multiple machines, and can flexibly expand capacity according to customer demand, meeting the diversified needs of projects of different scales. It adopts core-level aerogel insulation and system-level thermal runaway protection technology, which can significantly reduce the risk of “explosion”.
The core products of the residential inverter and the residential storage battery are displayed at the exhibition. Among them, the battery adopts a modular stacking design, which makes wiring-free installation more convenient. The Hybrid inverter is equipped with an AFCI function and 5 basic operating modes as standard, featuring high yield, high performance, and high reliability, which can adapt to various harsh installation environments and guarantee the safety of household electricity consumption.
Utility PV and Energy Storage Solutions to Help Large-scale Energy Transformation
The 350kW string inverter and 5MWh liquid cooling energy storage system continued to attract the attention of many exhibitors. Chint Power Systems' 350kW string inverter integrates 15-channel MPPT, with a maximum efficiency of 99%, and can operate at full power without derating in a 45℃ environment, effectively improving the system's power generation efficiency. The 5MWh liquid-cooling energy storage system consists of a 5MW PCS booster box + liquid-cooling battery box, and the standard 20-foot container can hold 5MWh, with a 36% increase in energy density. This product supports the one cluster one management of batteries in the system, ensuring that each battery cluster is fully charged or discharged, and solving the SOC inconsistency problem caused by the parallel connection of multiple battery clusters.
C&Iand Residential PV Solutions for Distributed Energy Development
In addition, Chint Power Systems also displayed PV solutions that are more suitable for the European market. Chint Power Systems' residential PV product line covers 2-40kW power levels, including single-phase and three-phase European inverters. The residential series adopts a fanless topology design to create a low-noise and quiet atmosphere; it is equipped with a DC switch, standard Wi-Fi communication, support for remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and software upgrades, and after-sales service to ensure that the entire lifecycle of the maintenance is trouble-free and convenient.
Chint Power 100/125kW string inverters support 12-channel MPPT, two more than the industry benchmark, and the over-matching ratio with components is higher than 150%, with lower kWh cost, stronger component adaptability, more complete protection functions, and more flexible monitoring functions.
